Thomas' progression, kinder 1

Thomas' little class had a
presentation to finish the
year, and show us what they
have learned.
We basically got to be a
"fly on the wall" while they
reviewed everything they had
learned.
We saw them go over their
numbers, letters, colors, shapes,
vowels, days of the week, months
in the year, and the solar system
in both Spanish and English. It
was fun to watch, and they had a
couple of songs they had learned in
class.
I was laughing how you could see Thomas
looking at the other kids when they were
trying to give an answer in Spanish, and
you could see the other kids look at him when
they needed to give an answer in English.
But he did very well. Always answered when
it was his turn and almost always had the right
answer! It was nice to see his Progress!

The videos are very short, but cute. I can not get the blog to upload anything longer than 12 seconds. If anyone knows any tricks, or has any recommendations for what I can do, I would love to share more videos with you!

Sunday and the sunken sink

We were quietly enjoying the peace of Sunday afternoon, when we heard a BIG thud, followed by a crying Hyrum. We raced up stairs, only to find this new, certainly not anticipated, scene. Thomas got there first, he is a little faster then me at these days, and he saw Hyrum crying in this now empty hole, that was once a sink. Apparently both Thomas and Hyrum had been staying and playing in the sink, and now it is no longer.

The GOOD NEWS is: Hyrum was not at all hurt, just a little rattled. There was nothing under the sink, so nothing got ruined. The bowl of the sink did not brake, and we did not have to pay for it to get put back in place. And it did not fall while little Thomas was in it. This is good news, because he is big enough, I am sure he would have been hurt.
So over all, we are counting are Many blessings!!

The best things in life take No Time at all!

She's been asking to have it cut for weeks,
But I have been avoiding it like the plague.

because she worked so hard to grow her long hair,
I thought cutting it would be something I could not bear!

Again she asks me with excitment,
It was time to cut it, no denying it!
So we put the hair in a braid,
and I gave her one more chance to back away.

"I want it short, so it will be cute and new."
So we chopped it off, and indeed it was true.
Her hair is cute, just divine.
And we did it no time.
She was trying not to smile, she was so thrilled.
She could not wait to see someone she could show it to.

So it turns out, the greatest hair-cuts of all,
are the ones that take no time at all!

Mean time the boys are on to better things,
Ping-pong is the new scene.
Now we have something to do during our
"summer-time."

We made some marsh mellow brownies just in time,
For a Saturday girls movie night.
And of course, the games have begun,
and soccer, or "football," is the real talk of the town.

The kids had their faces painted and watched the game,
Even their teachers school were dressed and ready for the world cup to begin!
