We finally made it, all of us, together. We'll have to post later with pictures of the drive down here. We did have a lot of fun along the way, we played at the beach and the pool, but it was a long trip. The kids really did well especially considering there are only so many McDonalds along the way.
But now we've been here for a little over a week and so far we love it. Our house is still virtually devoid of furniture and decor but we still love it. There is a lot of time spent hanging out on the
bed in our room, because it is the most comfortable place in the house, it's been a lot of fun.
Hyrum has become a pro at getting the help he needs to go up and down the stairs! He will actually stand at the top of the stairs &
yell over and over," MOM, MOM..." until someone comes up to hold his hand and help him walk down the stairs. The kids love to "walk Hyrum down the stairs," and everyone takes turns.
Now we just find ourselves going outside all the time... it is that nice here! It is the kind of weather that you take a trip to the cabin for in Arizona! The last couple of days have been in the eighties and we just keep looking around saying, " is it hot? It Is hot."
We feel really safe, I don't worry about my kids playing in the front
yard any more, there is nothing to worry about!
Yeah!!!! I am so glad you made it safely and are loving it! It looks so beautiful and green! We miss you so much! You certainly aren't missing out on anything here though. We just picked up another HOA flyer that let everyone know that the HOA is not everyone's "mommy and daddy", and that our home values would increase if everyone weeded their yards and paid their dues. Then there were the usual threats of special assessments and promises of prosecuting those feeding the feral cats... oh and nudity spotted in the pool in which they threaten to publish pictures. AhhhHAHAhahahahahaha! Craig and I died laughing at the sheer entertainment value of this looonnnngggg hoa update letter. Hi-larious. Makes us wish we were down there with ya! :)
ReplyDeleteKeep the updates coming! That is so cute that they love to walk Hyrum down the stairs! What cute siblings!
I'm so glad to hear that it is so safe there. Don't be comoplacent, though. You'll still need to check on them once in a while. Maybe they'll have some of the fun kind of freedom you had in St. Johns, to explore and create their own fun. That's one of the best things about living where it's safe and not too hot. They can actually go outside and play.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are all finally there together. Hooray! We miss you all, but are excited to hear of all your adventures. I am still laughing as I type this, because I just read Jordyn's comment. So true. You are so lucky to not be in the midst of all the craziness here. Must.not.feed.stray.cats...
ReplyDeleteI just get to add to the girls and say "Impeach Allan" (did i spell that right?) Yea the same old drama, I decided to rebel against the brown crispy grass and I started watering mine and its green yea! I laugh every time I drive up to the house. We miss you too. Lily told me that her heart aches because she misses Kirtlyn so much. Poor girls I bet they will always remember eachother. Glad you are doing well and keep the pictures coming.
